Deerfield Beach draws families, swimmers, and paddleboarders looking for a busy, classic beach day, with sunrise walks a local favorite before the crowds build. It's a Blue Wave certified beach, meaning its water quality and safety standards are independently checked. Expect company: this stretch runs crowded most days, especially on weekends.

Parking & Access

The beach sits at 200 NE 21st Ave. Parking is metered along the street, with a paid garage near the pier for overflow. Weekdays are easy; on weekends the metered spots and garage both fill quickly, so plan to arrive early.

Rules & Safety

Lifeguards are posted daily, so check the flags before you get in the water. Rip currents are the top hazard here, along with boat and pier traffic near the pilings. Most swimmers stick to the south side of the pier near lifeguard tower 7, since the water to the north is the designated surfing zone. Dogs are not allowed on Deerfield's sand; the nearest dog beaches are Bark Beach at Spanish River Park in Boca Raton and Hollywood Dog Beach.

What's There

Restrooms and showers are available along the sand. The pier closed in 2024 for storm-damage repairs and has since reopened with new railings and pavilions, open daily from 6 AM to 11 PM while finish work continues into 2026. Snorkeling is possible in spots along the shoreline.

Before You Go

Our Deerfield Beach store is about 1 mile from the sand, an easy stop for beach chairs, reef-safe sunscreen, and paddleboard or kayak rentals before you head down. We also book lessons for anyone wanting to get in the water with an instructor. Surfing? The pier is our surf school's home break.
