Deerfield Beach Pier is our home break, a sand bottom pier and sandbar wave open to all skill levels. It's surfable on any tide but works best low to mid tide on E/SE windswell with W/NW offshore wind, and peaks in fall, especially November.

Deerfield Beach Pier is a pier break over a sand bottom sandbar, the kind of setup that organizes windswell into surfable peaks near the pilings. It's rated all levels and it's surfable across every tide, though low to mid tide is when it lines up best. Crowds run high here, this is the most popular stretch of sand in town, so expect company on any decent day.
Best Conditions
The wave wants E/SE windswell first and foremost, and on a rare strong SE windswell event or an easterly Providence Channel pulse out of the Bahamas, Deerfield gets some of its best days of the year. Pair that with W/NW offshore wind and a low to mid tide. Fall is the season to watch, with November historically the peak month for both SE windswell and those Bahamas swells.
