What is the difference between boardshorts and hybrid shorts?

Boardshorts are built to surf in with quick-dry fabric and a fixed waist, while hybrid and amphibian shorts add pockets and stretch so they look right on land too.

How do I choose a boardshort length?

Length is listed in inches on the inseam, usually 17 to 21, so a 19 hits around the knee for most riders. Shorter inseams move freer in the water; longer ones offer more coverage.
