Red Reef Park

Who It's For

Red Reef Park is built for families, kids, and anyone who wants to snorkel without a boat trip. Calm, shallow water over a man-made rock reef makes it a solid beginner spot, with tropical fish and rays close by and turtles passing through now and then. Crowds here run moderate, lighter than the busier beaches to the north.

Parking & Access

The park sits at 1400 N Ocean Blvd. Parking is a paid city lot: 35 dollars on weekdays and 50 dollars on weekends and holidays for vehicles without a permit, with an 85 dollar annual resident permit available. The lot holds about 230 spots. Metered street parking across A1A is a cheaper option if you're staying under 4 hours.

Rules & Safety

Lifeguards are on duty year-round, so check the flags before you get in. Rip currents are a hazard here, along with the reef and rocks themselves, so watch your footing and don't touch the marine life. Dogs are not allowed at Red Reef Park.

What's There

You'll find restrooms, showers, and picnic areas with grills. The Gumbo Limbo Nature Center sits right next door, recently updated in 2026 with accessibility improvements and a new observation tower. The snorkel trail along the reef is rated good for spotting marine life, best at high tide when the water is calm.

Before You Go

Our Boca Raton store is about 1.3 miles from the park, a good stop for snorkel gear, reef-safe sunscreen, and rentals before you head over. We also book lessons if anyone in your group wants some water-time instruction.
