A signature fin set built with Dane Reynolds for the CI DD2
The FCS 2 CI x Dane Reynolds DD2 Tri-Fin Set was designed as a collaboration for the Channel Islands DD2, matching the regular AM side fins with an all new center fin shaped by Dane Reynolds. As FCS puts it, when you think of how Dane surfs, full throttle drive off the bottom followed by an explosive move off and above the lip, that is how this board and fin set performs together.
How the side and center fins work together
The AM side fins sit in the Carver family, known for powerful, drawn out turns with added hold, and they provide exceptional drive and hold on their own. The center fin comes from the Reactor family and uses a high pivot, low raked template with a more upright profile than a typical center fin. That upright shape suits the DD2's low to moderate tail rocker, letting a surfer push harder off the top, slide the tail, and break free from the lip while the side fins keep delivering drive off the bottom. The upright shape also reduces drag, which is part of why FCS calls this set very fast.
- Regular AM side fins from the Carver family paired with a Dane Reynolds designed center fin from the Reactor family
- Matched specifically to the Channel Islands DD2's low to moderate tail rocker
- Built for hollow, steep waves and punchy beach breaks
- Fits the FCS II Fin System
Who should run this set
This is a performance shortboard fin set for surfers riding boards with deep concaves and moderate to extreme rocker, particularly a Channel Islands DD2 or a similarly low rocker board. If your surfing leans toward radical, above the lip moves paired with hard bottom turns, the combination of a stable, driving side fin and a fast releasing upright center fin is built for exactly that style.
Installing and caring for the set
These fins use the FCS II tool free plug and play system, so they click into FCS II boxes without hardware. Confirm each fin is fully seated before paddling out, and rinse the fins and fin boxes with fresh water after saltwater sessions to keep the tabs free of salt buildup.
