The Creatures of Leisure Superlite Lite Leash is engineered for surfers who want as little resistance between themselves and the wave as possible. At 5mm cord diameter, it is among the slimmest leashes in the Creatures lineup, dramatically reducing water drag so you can drive through turns and generate speed in smaller surf without fighting your own equipment.
Every component is chosen for weight and performance, not bulk. The result is a leash that stays out of your way from the moment you paddle out to the last section of the ride.
Creatures TPU Cord
The cord is formed from Creatures' proprietary thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) compound. TPU offers a superior strength-to-diameter ratio compared to conventional urethane, meaning a 5mm Superlite cord holds reliably without needing the extra girth of a standard leash. TPU also retains elasticity across a wide temperature range, so the cord snaps back cleanly after each wipeout rather than going limp and tangling around your feet.
DNA Flex Mould Technology
The swivel and horn assembly use Creatures' DNA Flex Mould construction. Rather than a rigid housing, the moulded connector flexes with the load of a wipeout and then returns to its original geometry. This dissipates shock along the full length of the system instead of concentrating stress at the rail saver or cuff attachment points, extending the usable life of the leash significantly.
The Elliptical Horn geometry reduces the profile of the connector where it exits the tail block, keeping the leash cord lower against the board and away from your feet during pop-ups and footwork.
Surefire Leash Release
The Surefire Leash Release allows for quick disconnection when needed. The mechanism is designed to operate reliably even after repeated sessions in saltwater, giving you confidence that the system will release cleanly if you ever need it to.
WT1 Welded Mesh Cuff
The cuff is constructed from WT1 Welded Mesh, a process that bonds the outer facing to the neoprene core at the molecular level rather than stitching or gluing. The result is a cuff that is lighter and thinner than a traditional wrapped cuff while remaining durable through seasons of heavy use. Moulded Velcro closure locks the cuff in place without the hard edge of a conventional strap, and the non-slip inner lining keeps the cuff positioned on your ankle even during the most aggressive wipeouts.
