Construction and Materials
The Icarus deck is built around a bamboo core that delivers the lightweight flex platform the design demands. Bamboo biscuit inserts at all four corners reinforce the areas most prone to stress concentration, letting the center of the deck flex freely while keeping the nose and tail lively and durable. A triax fiberglass top sheet and a triax fiberglass bottom layer wrap the core in a composite shell that controls flex direction, adds torsional stiffness, and gives the board a consistent, predictable feel underfoot. Underneath it all, a bottom cork dampening layer absorbs road vibration before it reaches your feet, making longer sessions on rough pavement significantly more comfortable.
Deck Geometry
The Icarus runs a cambered profile from nose to tail, which loads the deck like a spring and returns that energy into forward momentum with every pump. The variable concave works with the camber to balance the flex pattern across the length of the board, so the response feels even rather than soft in the middle and stiff at the tips.
