Built for the Toughest Sessions

The O'Neill Hyperfreak Tech TRVLR Enduro 19 is O'Neill's most durable boardshort, engineered for surfers who push their gear hard. A 19-inch outseam with 8.5-inch inseam puts the hem just above the knee, giving you coverage without sacrificing paddle range. Every panel choice and finish on the Enduro is there for a reason.

Hyperfreak Pro Stretch

The body of the short is built from O'Neill's Hyperfreak Pro stretch fabric, a blend of 52% Recycled Polyester, 36% Polyester, and 12% Elastane. That elastane content is what makes the Hyperfreak line the benchmark for four-way mobility in surf boardshorts. You get full hip and knee articulation in the pop-up and through the barrel without the short riding up or binding at the groin.

Cordura Nylon Stretch Panel

The side panels are Cordura Nylon stretch, the same abrasion-resistant material used in hiking packs and military gear. On a boardshort, Cordura takes the abuse that would blow out a standard fabric panel: repeated wax contact, extended rail time, and the constant friction of a wetsuit over the waistband. It flexes with the Hyperfreak body fabric rather than fighting it.

O'Neill Hyperdry DWR Finish

O'Neill's Hyperdry Durable Water Repellent treatment keeps the outer fabric shedding water rather than soaking it up. A waterlogged boardshort adds dead weight and drags on your movement. The Hyperdry finish keeps the short light from first wave to last.

Construction Details

  • Anti-rash Hyperthread lining eliminates the chafe that builds over a long surf session or a travel day of walking between breaks
  • Ergonomic side zip pocket secures keys, wax, and essentials without bulk on the hip
  • TRVLR flex tie drawcord adjusts and holds without the stiff traditional braid that digs in under a wetsuit

Made with Repreve Recycled Materials

The Hyperfreak Tech TRVLR Enduro is made with Repreve recycled materials. Repreve fibers are produced from post-consumer plastic bottles, giving the polyester content in this short a lower environmental footprint without any trade-off in performance or durability. O'Neill has incorporated Repreve across the Hyperfreak line as part of a broader sustainability commitment that goes back to the brand's California roots since 1952.

Frequently Asked Questions
What makes the Hyperfreak Tech TRVLR Enduro different from standard O'Neill boardshorts?
The Enduro adds a Cordura Nylon stretch panel to the Hyperfreak Pro stretch body fabric. Cordura is an abrasion-resistant nylon used in technical gear; on a boardshort it protects the high-wear areas that take repeated wax and wetsuit contact. Combined with the Hyperfreak Pro four-way stretch and Hyperdry DWR finish, the Enduro is O'Neill's most durable boardshort in the Hyperfreak line.
What is Hyperfreak Pro stretch?
Hyperfreak Pro stretch is O'Neill's premium boardshort fabric, built with a high elastane content (12%) blended into recycled and standard polyester. It delivers four-way stretch for full hip and knee mobility during paddling and surfing, and returns to shape without bagging out over repeated sessions.
Does the Enduro 19 have a liner?
Yes. The Enduro 19 features an anti-rash Hyperthread lining that reduces friction and chafing during extended water time or travel between breaks.
What is the TRVLR flex tie drawcord?
The TRVLR flex tie drawcord is a softer, more pliable drawcord system designed for comfort under a wetsuit and during travel. It adjusts and holds securely without the rigid feel of a traditional braided cord.
Are O'Neill Hyperfreak boardshorts good as swim trunks for casual use?
Yes. The Hyperfreak Tech TRVLR Enduro works well as men's swim trunks beyond surfing. The Hyperdry DWR sheds water quickly, the side zip pocket keeps essentials secure, and the just-above-the-knee length is versatile for the beach, pool, or travel. The stretch fabric is comfortable for walking and activity outside the water as well.
What recycled materials are used in the Enduro 19?
The Enduro 19 is made with Repreve recycled materials. Repreve converts post-consumer plastic bottles into high-performance polyester fiber, which makes up part of the 52% Recycled Polyester content in the fabric blend.
