Italo Ferreira won his world title in 2019 running Mick Fanning style performance under his feet with Thermo-lite traction, and that combination became the blueprint for his first signature Creatures of Leisure pad. This is the traction pad, Square Loc I paired with Thermo-lite, built to the same spec Italo rides.

Strategic heel and toe cutouts, backed by the added Thermo-lite base, are there to maximize foot engagement so your back foot locks in through turns and off the tail.

Installing and Living With Traction

Traction pads go down permanently once the 3M adhesive sets, so clean and dry your deck first, peel the backing in sections, and press the arch bar and kick in line with your stance before committing to the tail piece. Rinse the deck after every saltwater session and let it dry fully; the EcoPure biodegradable foam holds up to normal surf use but any foam traction lasts longer when it is not left to bake in direct sun between sessions.
