Who It's For

South Pointe Park pulls in families, people-watchers, and anglers working the jetty, with the playground and splash pad keeping kids busy while everyone else watches the boat traffic through Government Cut. Expect company: this is one of the busier stretches of Miami Beach, especially on weekends.

Parking & Access

The park sits at 1 Washington Ave in Miami Beach. Parking runs through a mix of paid lots, meters, and a garage, and it's expensive and hard to come by near the tip of the peninsula, so leave extra time.

Rules & Safety

Lifeguards are posted daily, so watch for the posted flags before swimming. Boat traffic through Government Cut and the jetty rocks are the main things to plan around, and the crowds here mean it's worth keeping a closer eye on kids near the water. Dogs must stay leashed through most of the park and aren't allowed on the beach itself; the off-leash bark park sits inside the park's western side.

What's There

Restrooms, showers, grills, picnic tables, a playground, and a splash pad are all on site, and the water near the jetty works for snorkeling. A walking pier lets you watch the ships pass through the cut, and the water tends to run cleaner toward the park's south end.
