Drive, Speed and Response for Modern Longboarding

The FCS Connect GF Longboard Fin is a neutral, well-balanced single fin built for versatility across all wave conditions. Whether you are logging long, cross-stepping lines or snapping off turns at the tip, the Connect template gives you the combination of drive, speed and response that modern longboarding demands.

Developed in collaboration with the world's leading surf athletes and surfboard shapers, the Connect is the fin FCS built for surfers who want a go-to center fin that performs in everything from small beach breaks to overhead point waves.

Turn and Connect Technology

The defining feature of the Connect template is its ability to seamlessly link maneuvers from tail to tip and back again. The balanced foil generates early drive off the bottom so you can climb to the nose with confidence, while retaining enough pivot to redirect the board when you need to. It does not favor trim or turns exclusively -- it earns both.

GF Construction

The Connect is built in FCS's fiberglass (GF) construction: a durable, performance-oriented layup that delivers a lively flex pattern and reliable hold through the arc of a turn. GF fins are lighter and more responsive than basic plastic fins, making them a practical upgrade for any longboard surfer serious about feel underfoot.

Plate and Screw Fastening

The Connect uses FCS's proven plate-and-screw system. The included plate and screw hardware locks the fin securely into any FCS-compatible longboard center box, eliminating fin rattle and keeping the fin planted even in powerful surf. Installation and removal are straightforward with a flat-head screwdriver.

2+1 Compatibility

The Connect is fully compatible with 2+1 setups. Run it as a single center fin or pair it with side bites for added hold and directional drive in larger, more powerful waves. The neutral template works in both configurations without compromise.

Designed With the World's Best

FCS fins are the preferred choice of the world's best surfers and shapers. Every template in the FCS range is tested and refined by top-level athletes across a diverse range of board models, wave conditions and surfing styles -- so when you pick up a Connect, you are surfing a fin that has been validated in real surf, not just a mold room.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the FCS Connect longboard fin designed for?
The FCS Connect GF Longboard Fin is designed for modern longboarding across all wave conditions. Its neutral, well-balanced template delivers a combination of drive, speed and response, making it a versatile go-to center fin for both trim surfing and active cross-stepping or turning.
What does GF mean on FCS fins?
GF stands for Fiberglass. FCS GF construction uses a fiberglass layup that provides a lively flex pattern, reliable hold and better responsiveness compared to standard plastic fins. It is a durable, performance-oriented material choice suited to everyday surfing.
How does the plate and screw fastening system work?
The plate-and-screw system secures the fin to the board using a small plate that slides into the longboard center box and a screw that clamps it in place. It requires only a flat-head screwdriver, holds the fin firmly to eliminate rattle, and allows quick removal between sessions.
Is the FCS Connect compatible with a 2+1 setup?
Yes. The Connect is fully 2+1 compatible, meaning you can use it as a standalone single fin or pair it with FCS side bite fins for added hold and drive. The neutral template works effectively in both configurations.
What makes the FCS Connect different from other longboard fins?
The Connect is built around a neutral, well-balanced template that does not bias heavily toward either drive or pivot. It seamlessly connects turns and allows fluid movement up and down the board, which makes it more versatile than fins optimized for one style of longboarding alone.
What hardware is included with the FCS Connect fin?
The FCS Connect GF Longboard Fin includes the plate-and-screw fastening hardware needed for installation into an FCS-compatible longboard center box.
Where can I buy the FCS Connect GF Longboard Fin?
The FCS Connect GF Longboard Fin is available in store and online at Island Water Sports in South Florida.
