Creatures of Leisure built this 3-piece tail pad around what CT surfer Griffin Colapinto actually wanted underfoot: maximum grip, a steep kick for powerful turns, and a wide arch bar that locks the back foot in position on any wave face. The result is a pad shaped by thirty years of Creatures craftsmanship and refined by one of the world's best.
The EcoPure construction takes that performance a step further. The foam compound is certified biodegradable, so when the pad eventually reaches the end of its life it breaks down rather than sitting in landfill. The packaging is recyclable and biodegradable as well. Performance and responsibility are not a tradeoff here.
Diamond Loc II Traction Pattern
The Diamond Loc II raised texture covers the full surface of all three pieces. The geometry creates multidirectional bite so your back foot stays planted whether you are driving off the bottom, pivoting through a cutback, or releasing into an aerial. It is not decorative texture. Each diamond node is shaped to grip wax-free and hold through submersion.
30mm Alpine Kick
Griffin specified a 30mm Alpine Kick for the rear piece. That height gives a firm positive stop at the back of the foot, letting you load pressure and redirect without slipping off the tail. It is a steep kick by design. Surfers who generate power from precise foot placement will feel the difference immediately.
7mm Teardrop Wide Arch Bar
The center piece features a 7mm Teardrop Wide Arch Bar that runs across the width of the pad. 3M Adhesive and Installation
The pad ships with factory-applied 3M adhesive backing. Clean the tail block thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol, let it dry completely, peel the backing, and press each piece firmly into place. Hold pressure for at least 60 seconds per piece and allow 24 hours cure time before surfing. Proper surface prep is the single biggest factor in long-term adhesion.
