The Channel Islands Surfboards Flux 3-Piece Flat Tail Pad is designed to give surfers the best of both worlds. A lined up groove pattern sits up front so riders can feel their board underfoot when pumping down the line or tucking into a tube, while a mixed groove pattern takes over the back half of the pad for maximum grip when stepping back into a turn or launching an air.

Construction Details

This is a 3 piece pad built with a flat, no arch profile and a 25mm vert kick that has beveled corners for comfort under the back foot. The pad uses BioGrip natural EVA foam and is finished with die cut holes that add grip while cutting down on extra weight. It attaches with 3M Marine Grade adhesive, built to handle constant exposure to saltwater and sun.

Installing and Caring for Your Traction Pad

Apply the pad to a clean, dry deck so the 3M Marine Grade adhesive can bond properly, pressing firmly across the full surface including the die cut sections. Rinse the board and pad with fresh water after sessions to clear salt and sand out of the grooves, which helps preserve grip over time. Because it is a flat, no arch design, positioning is straightforward relative to your stance rather than needing to match an arch to a specific tail shape.
