Who It's For

Snorkelers, paddleboarders, anglers, and boaters gravitate here more than casual sunbathers, since the shoreline stretches for miles without the crowds found elsewhere on this coast. The nearest reef sits about 300 yards out, a manageable swim or paddle for confident snorkelers. There's no lifeguard on duty, so this beach suits swimmers comfortable watching their own conditions, and crowds run moderate even on a nice day.

Parking & Access

A per-vehicle entry fee of $6 gets you into the park. The address is 6503 N. Ocean Drive in Dania Beach, and the park sits on a barrier island between the Atlantic and Whiskey Creek, with the entrance road leading straight to the lot.

Rules & Safety

No lifeguard is posted at this park, so swimming here is entirely at your own risk, and rip currents are a real hazard along this stretch. Boat traffic picks up near the north end close to Port Everglades, so swimmers and paddlers should stay alert for vessels heading to and from the inlet. Dogs aren't permitted on the beach itself, though they're allowed on the park's trails.

What's There

The park has restrooms, outdoor showers, and picnic pavilions, plus a boat ramp, the closest launch to the Port Everglades Inlet for boats up to 36 feet; it's a boat ramp rather than a marina. Canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards rent through the Whiskey Creek Hideout concession for the calmer creek side. As of March 2026, restrooms 3 and 4 are closed, along with beach access from parking lot 3 and the picnic areas near restroom 4 and the Leatherback and Osprey pavilions, so check which sections are open before your visit.
