Hollywood North Beach Park

Who It's For

Families, anglers, and snorkelers make up most of the crowd here, drawn by the shade, the grills, and calmer water than the busier beaches to the south. It's a 56-acre county park, so there's room to spread out even when the lot fills up, and the pace stays more relaxed than the main Broadwalk strip.

Parking & Access

Parking runs $10 per vehicle for the day, dropping to $6 if you arrive after 2 p.m., in the county-run lot at the entrance on Ocean Drive.

Rules & Safety

Lifeguard towers here are staffed seven days a week, year-round, with guards on duty from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., so check the posted flag before wading in; rip currents and scattered rocks are the hazards to know about. Dogs aren't allowed on the main sand, though the City of Hollywood's Dog Beach runs on the stretch between Pershing and Custer streets nearby, free and open daily from sunrise to sunset with a current rabies tag required. Kiteboarders launch from a spot near Meade Street on weekdays, so expect gear and lines staged in that section on a weekday visit.

What's There

On-site amenities include restrooms, outdoor showers, and grills for a picnic, plus a 60-foot observation tower worth the climb for the view up and down the coast. Sea grape trees shade much of the sand, and on calm days there's enough reef close to shore for casual snorkeling if you bring your own mask.

Before You Go

Island Water Sports' Pompano Beach location is 13.3 miles from the park and carries snorkel masks, beach gear, and rentals for the day.
