September is Suicide prevention month. But suicide is something we should all be aware of year 'round. Did you know that Suicide is the second leading cause of death among young adults and for every youth suicide it is estimated that 100 to 200 others attempt suicide.
Being a young adult is tough. It is a time when many people experience significant stress. Young adults are navigating transitions such as gaining more independence and responsibility when moving from home and beginning college or a career. Then multiply that by the stress of the COVID-19 pandemic, social media and more. And, suicide does not only affect young adult. It affects all of us.
That’s why this September for #SuicidePreventionAwarenessMonth, we’ve teamed up with team rider Fabiana Delfino and Santa Cruz skateboards to raise awareness.
We are giving away 3 signed Santa Cruz decks from Fabiana to raise money for the Henry Gartland Foundation.
There are several ways to enter in store or online:
- Purchase our Mental Health Awareness Collaboration Hat from artist Christian Gonz and receive 5 raffle tickets.
- Purchase any item from Santa Cruz skateboards and receive 2 raffle tickets.
- Receive one raffle ticket for every $5 donated through this link for the Henry Gartland Foundation and we will double you donation!
Help us to stop suicide! Make sure to ask those around you how they are doing and really take the time to listen. And, if you or someone you know needs to talk to someone right now, text START to 741-741 or call 1-800-273-TALK (8255) for a free, confidential conversation with a trained counselor 24/7.
