Who It's For

Surfside draws families, swimmers, and sunset-watchers who want a laid-back, small-town scene that's less hectic than South Beach. Crowds run moderate here, not packed, and the pace stays friendly year-round.

Parking & Access

The beach fronts 9301 Collins Ave, with public access at street ends between 87th and 96th St. Street parking is metered, and spots run limited and hard to come by, so budget extra time. Wheelchair-accessible entrances sit at 88th and 96th St.

Rules & Safety

Surfside staffs a single lifeguard tower, at 93rd St, daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; outside that window and away from that stretch, nobody is watching the water. Numbered emergency stations with ring buoys are posted at every beach entrance for exactly that reason. Rip currents are a hazard along this coast, so stick close to the staffed tower when you can. Dogs are not permitted on the sand.

What's There

Restrooms and showers sit along the beach, and a few pockets of shoreline work for snorkeling.

Before You Go

The closest Island Water Sports store is our Pompano Beach location, roughly 24.5 miles to the north. It's worth the stop for beach gear and reef-safe sunscreen if your day already has you passing through Broward.
