Vuori is in store at all four Island Water Sports locations: Deerfield Beach, Boca Raton, Delray Beach, and Pompano Beach. It is in store only, so it cannot be purchased online, including on this website. Come in, feel the fabric, and try it on.

Vuori has become the brand people buy once and then quietly replace half their wardrobe with. This guide covers what is actually behind that, style by style, and what we carry at each store.

What makes Vuori different

The short answer is fabric. Vuori develops its own performance knits instead of buying generic athletic material, and gives them names because they behave differently from each other. Once you know the four or five that matter, the whole range makes sense.

DreamKnit

The signature fabric, and the one most people mean when they say Vuori feels different. It is a brushed performance knit that handles like a favorite worn-in sweatshirt while still behaving technically when you sweat in it. It runs through the Ponto layers, the Strato pieces, the Halo styles, and the women's Performance Jogger. On several styles, including the Halo Essential Scoop Tank and the Halo Performance Crop 2.0, that fabric is made from 89 percent recycled materials. The Clean Elevation Shorty uses DreamKnit Move at 87 percent recycled.

BlissBlend

The women's counterpart, a performance stretch knit built for high-rise leggings that pairs lightweight support with real give. It carries the All The Feels legging and bra, and the AllTheFeels Crew Tank, which is made from 79 percent recycled material.

The ones people do not know about

BreatheInterlock carries the Daily Pocket Legging, built around a high waist and a tunnel waistband. The Stride Legging uses a performance stretch nylon chosen for quick drying, which is why it is the running legging rather than the lounging one. The Ace Polo is 100 percent performance pique, and the Gamepoint Polo is 100 percent recycled four-way stretch. The most unusual is the Tuvalu Tee, an ultrasoft pima cotton tee crafted with SeaCell, a fiber made from seaweed and wood pulp.

Recycled content, specifically

Plenty of brands mention recycled material. Vuori tends to publish the number: 89 percent across much of the DreamKnit line, 87 percent on DreamKnit Move, 79 percent on the AllTheFeels tank, 100 percent on the Gamepoint Polo. The Banks Short is made from four to five recycled plastic bottles per pair.

Vuori shorts, decoded

Shorts are where most people start, and where the naming gets confusing. Here is the honest breakdown of what we carry.

Kore, and Kore 5 inch

The Kore is the piece Vuori is known for, and it comes in two lengths that behave differently. The classic Kore Short has an athletic fit falling just above the knee. The Kore 5 inch has a shorter athletic fit that lands several inches above it. Both have the breathable boxer-brief liner that lets you skip the extra layer entirely, and that liner is the most common reason people come back for a second pair.

Ponto

The Ponto Short is the DreamKnit one: lightweight, buttery, closer to a lounge short that happens to perform than a gym short that happens to be comfortable.

Banks, Crosscourt, and Maverick

The Banks Short is the versatile one, and the recycled-bottle story above. The Crosscourt Elastic Short was designed around the court and works well beyond it. The Maverick Volley Short is a true hybrid in a performance woven, moisture-wicking and quick to dry, which in practice means it handles getting wet.

Qualify and Aim

The Qualify Run Short Lined 6 inch is the runner's short: lightweight, quick to dry, seriously stretchy. The Aim Short goes the other direction, a more formal design with a lounge-worthy feel, lightweight stretch, and plenty of pockets.

Which one should you get?

If you want one pair to cover everything, the Kore. If you want the softest, the Ponto. If you are running, the Qualify. If you are around the water, the Maverick. If it needs to look like a real short with a shirt tucked in, the Aim. If you cannot decide, that is exactly what trying them on side by side settles in about four minutes.

Women's Vuori: the pieces that matter

Leggings and crops

All The Feels is the BlissBlend high-rise, the soft one. Clean Elevation is the simplified high-rise built for performance. Stride is the running legging in quick-drying performance stretch nylon. Studio Pocket adds a hidden interior stash pocket at the waistband, and Daily Pocket uses BreatheInterlock with a high waist. The Daily Crop is a scoop-neck tank with a medium-support built-in bra, grown out of the Daily Bra into an around-town piece.

Tanks with the bra built in

This is the detail that sells the category. The Elevation Plyo and Pose Plyo tanks have full built-in bra support with removable cups, and the Pose adds a honeycomb mesh lining for airflow. The Elevation Square Neck and Racerback tanks give medium support with wider straps. The Rib Cropped Tank combines stretch rib knit, honeycomb-lined breathability, and built-in support. The practical upshot is that a tank becomes a complete piece rather than a layer over something else.

Shorts, skirt, and dress

Clementine 2.0 and the Clementine 4 inch are the crowd-favorite workout shorts, rebuilt for mobility. The Boyfriend Short is the deliberately baggy mid-rise. The Halo Performance Short 2.0 came after the joggers and uses the same premium DreamKnit stretch with a wider waistband. The Volley Skirt and Volley Dress cover the warm-weather end.

Men's tees, polos, and layers

Tees

The Strato Tech Tee is the one Vuori calls the softest piece of workout apparel on the planet, and it exists as a short sleeve, a long sleeve, a tank, and a hoodie. The Current Tech Tee brings four-way knit stretch and moisture-wicking. The Tuvalu is the pima cotton and SeaCell one.

Polos

Four of them, and they are genuinely different. The Strato Tech Polo is the best-selling and softest, quick drying for long days in the sun. The Feather Polo is stretch-infused and performs on the court and on the couch equally. The Ace Polo is slim-fit, 100 percent performance pique with a three-button placket, built as a travel and commute piece. The Gamepoint Polo was designed with tennis players in mind, in 100 percent recycled four-way stretch.

Layers and pants

The Ponto Performance Crew, the half-zip hoodie, and the Ponto Performance Pant are the DreamKnit family, which the brand describes as the softest performance sweatpants it makes. The Halo Essential Hoodie is the cropped everyday pullover. For pants, the Meta Pant mixes technical performance with everyday wear, the Aim Pant is the tailored one with plenty of pockets, and the Cascade Tech Chino is the athletic-fit travel and tee-times pant.

Why these fabrics make sense in South Florida

Most performance apparel is designed for places that have a winter. What matters here is different: whether a fabric dries after you have sweated through it by mid-morning, whether it still smells fine by dinner, and whether it survives salt, sunscreen, and an afternoon in a hot car.

That is why the moisture-wicking and quick-dry pieces dominate what we buy, and why the anti-microbial treatment on styles like the Strato Tech Hoodie earns more here than it would in a dry climate. UPF protection appears across a number of styles, which counts when the walk from the car is already sun exposure. The layers we stock are for over-air-conditioning, not over-winter.

In store at all four locations

Every Island Water Sports store carries Vuori:

Addresses, hours, and directions are on our locations page. Styles and sizes move between stores, so call 954-427-4929 if you are after a specific piece and we will tell you which location has it.

Vuori is in store only at Island Water Sports. It cannot be added to a cart, ordered on this site, or shipped. The Vuori pages on this site show an In Store Only button, and they exist so you can see exactly what we stock and check styles before you make the trip.

While you are in

Island Water Sports has been South Florida's original surf shop since 1978, family owned across four stores. Our staff live in the same heat you do and wear this gear year round, so ask them what actually holds up rather than what the tag says.

The same trip covers surfboards, wetsuits, sandals, and sunglasses. If you like a brand guide, we have written up Rainbow Sandals and Freaks of Nature as well, and you can browse men's and women's online for everything that is not Vuori.

Vuori FAQ

What is DreamKnit?

DreamKnit is Vuori's signature brushed performance knit. It feels like a worn-in sweatshirt but behaves like technical fabric, with stretch and moisture-wicking built in. It runs through much of what we carry, including the Ponto and Strato styles. BlissBlend is the counterpart used in the women's leggings.

What is the difference between the Kore and the Ponto short?

The Kore is the athletic one, with a breathable boxer-brief liner, in a classic length just above the knee or a shorter 5 inch. The Ponto is made from DreamKnit, so it is softer and reads closer to a lounge short that performs. Most people who want one pair for everything take the Kore.

Can I buy Vuori online from Island Water Sports?

No. Vuori is in store only at Island Water Sports. It cannot be added to a cart, ordered on this website, or shipped. Our Vuori product pages show an In Store Only button so you can check styles before you visit.

Which Island Water Sports stores carry Vuori?

All four. You can shop Vuori in Deerfield Beach, Boca Raton, Delray Beach, and Pompano Beach. Addresses and hours are on our locations page.

Do you carry both men's and women's Vuori?

Is Vuori good in hot and humid weather?

The pieces we buy for South Florida are the moisture-wicking and quick-dry ones, and several styles carry UPF protection. The Strato Tech Hoodie is anti-microbial, which matters more in humidity than it does in a dry climate. Our layers are meant for air conditioning rather than winter.

Is Vuori made from recycled materials?

Much of it is, and the brand publishes the numbers. DreamKnit runs at 89 percent recycled across several styles, DreamKnit Move at 87 percent, the AllTheFeels Crew Tank at 79 percent, and the Gamepoint Polo at 100 percent. The Banks Short is made from four to five recycled plastic bottles per pair.

Can you ship Vuori to me?
