Two Looks, One Bottom

The Maaji Splenour Bikini Bottom is built around one of swimwear's smartest ideas: flip it inside out and you get a completely different look. Both sides feature a guaranteed reversible print, so you're not choosing between two styles at the register -- you're taking both home. The ribbed texture visible on the outer face gives the piece its tactile character, while the high cut leg and mid rise waist create a silhouette that nods to 80s swimwear without feeling like a costume.

Construction and Materials

Maaji built the Splenour from 91% Regenerate Polyamide and 9% Spandex. Regenerate Polyamide is a recycled fiber recovered from pre- and post-consumer nylon waste, including fishing nets and fabric scraps. It performs the same way virgin nylon does -- chlorine resistance, shape retention, color fastness through repeated salt and sun exposure -- while keeping raw material out of the waste stream. The 9% Spandex adds four-way stretch so the fabric moves with you through every stroke, jump, and exit from the water.

The thin side profile keeps the silhouette clean and reduces bulk at the hip. Classic coverage at the rear means you stay covered and comfortable without sacrificing the elevated cut of the leg opening. The entire piece is manufactured in Colombia, where Maaji's production has been based since the brand's founding.

Fit and Feel

The mid rise waist sits comfortably above the hip without reaching the extreme high waist territory. The high cut leg elongates the leg line and works well with a wide range of top styles from bandeau to triangle. The four-way stretch fabric adapts to movement rather than restricting it, which matters whether you are in and out of the water all day or primarily lounging poolside. Because it is fully reversible, fit is consistent on both sides -- there is no "wrong" side that fits differently.

Sustainability

Maaji's use of Regenerate Polyamide reflects a broader commitment to reducing the swimwear industry's environmental footprint. By sourcing fiber from recovered nylon waste rather than new petroleum, the Splenour bottom uses significantly fewer virgin resources.
