Globe Dover II: Chelsea Boot Meets Skate Performance
The Globe Dover II is an evolution of one of Globe's most recognized silhouettes. Taking the DNA of the classic Aussie Chelsea boot and rebuilding it from the ground up for skateboarding, Globe raised the ankle collar by an inch and added a heel pod for a more locked-in fit. The result is a slip-on that feels elevated off the board and performs on it.
Full Grain Crazy Horse Leather Upper
The upper is constructed from 100% full grain "Crazy Horse" cowhide leather, a pull-up leather known for its natural character and durability. The finish develops a distinctive patina with wear, with scuffs and pressure marks pulling up to a lighter tone that gives each pair a lived-in look unique to the wearer. The material holds its structure over repeated sessions while remaining flexible enough for skating.
Built for Skateboarding
Globe engineered the Dover II with two proprietary technologies that separate it from a standard Chelsea boot. The Shockbed insole provides cushioning and impact absorption underfoot, addressing the repeated heel and ball-of-foot impacts that come with skating. The Super-V outsole delivers the grip and board feel that skaters rely on, with a vulcanized bond between upper and sole that keeps the shoe flat and responsive through tricks and transitions.
Stretch elastic gore panels on both sides allow fast, tool-free entry while maintaining a close fit once on. A pull tab at the rear makes getting in and out even easier without compromising the clean profile of the silhouette.
Globe Wasted Talent Collaboration
The Dover II grew out of Globe's creative partnership with Wasted Talent, a collaboration that pushed the original Dover design into new materials and heights. Globe has been building skate footwear since the mid-1990s, founded by the Hill brothers in Melbourne, Australia, who started with Hardcore Enterprises in the mid-1980s before launching Globe as a dedicated boardsports brand.
