Who it is for and how it works
Futures added more base and more rake than their long-standing thruster template, along with a narrower tapered tip, to increase resistance and bite when a surfer digs deep into a turn and to help maintain drive through tight radius turns. The reduced tip area, with a tapered flex, adds release and freedom for quick transitions in and out of turns. This makes the Mayhem 3.0 a fit for surfers riding modern, performance-oriented shortboards who want more control in the critical part of the wave.
How it was developed
Futures tested the Mayhem 3.0 in wave pools for controlled, repeatable feedback, and worked with a crew of elite surfers of different sizes to refine the design before release.
Care
Rinse the fins with fresh water after riding in salt water and store them out of prolonged direct sun to help the honeycomb-carbon construction hold up over repeated sessions.
