• Design wise its got a flattish rocker with enough flip in the nose to keep it working in steeper waves. The board is flat through the front section on the underside and then goes into a double concave through the middle, nothing too extreme but enough to give lift to generate speed and plenty of and glide. The rails are neutral through to half way and then firm up by the fins and get more tucked into the tail. The tail has a performance outline, its quite pulled in. This board delivers all the stuff you want from a mid length, ie stability, paddle power etc but it also has a far more responsive feel than you get with other boards.
• It works in pretty much anything, we've surfed it in knee high onshore beach break waves through to lined up offshore shoulder high point waves, its fun in both. A total beginner could get the basics down on this board and equally a seasoned surfer will really enjoy how lively it is.
• The TJ Mid Pro has the Ibolic epoxy core tech with the Volcanic lamination. This means the board feels lively and will keep that lively feel indefinitely, the tech is also light but not too light and super durable, all in all a great package.
• The board is set up with a 4 + 1 fin system, a central universal box with 4 Futures boxes. We surfed it as a 2 + 1 in smaller waves with an FCS Connect 7" fin centre fin and as a quad with the Endorfins Velox fins in better waves, both have their merits you need have a play around and see what works for you, could even surf it as a single fin!
