Costa Del Mar Blackfin Polarized Sunglasses for Life on the Water
The Blackfin is one of the most recognized names in the Costa Del Mar lineup, and this polarized pair keeps that reputation with a frame built for maximum coverage and lenses tuned for time spent on the water. It builds off the original Blackfin look with a handful of practical additions aimed at anyone who wears their sunglasses hard.
Frame and Lens Features
- Large lens front designed to fit an average sized head
- Maximum coverage frame with wrap that helps reduce light leak
- Copper base lens with 12% light transmission
- Glass lens material for clarity, with encapsulated mirrors between layers of glass that resist scratching
- 20% thinner and 22% lighter than average polarized glass
- Green mirror lens color
A vented, fully adjustable nose pad allows a custom fit, while sweat channels and eyewire drains help keep vision clear when things get sweaty or wet. Side shields, hooding, a stickier Hydrolite grip, and metal keeper slots all work together to keep the frame locked in place during activity.
Who Should Wear the Blackfin
Costa lists this pair as excellent for sight fishing, cloudy days, and everyday activities, and calls it one of the most versatile options in the lineup. That makes it a strong choice for anyone splitting time between the boat, the beach, and regular daily wear in South Florida sun, not just dedicated anglers.
Fit and Care
Because the nose pad is fully adjustable, take a moment to dial in the fit so the frame sits securely without pinching, especially if you plan to wear it during active days on the water. Rinse the lenses and frame with fresh water after saltwater exposure and dry with a soft cloth to protect the glass lens and mirror coating over time.
