Cord and Hardware Construction
The cord is made from engineered polyurethane, chosen for its combination of elasticity, UV resistance, and long-term durability in saltwater. It stretches under load and snaps back without memory loss, meaning it holds its shape session after session. Both ends terminate with machine-finished stainless steel swivels that rotate freely under tension, eliminating the cord twisting that can create dangerous loops around your legs or paddle.
Interchangeable Cuff and Rail Saver Assembly
The swivel assembly at both the ankle and the board end is designed to be interchangeable, so the entire leash system can be rebuilt or upgraded without replacing the cord. The ankle cuff is a deluxe padded strap with a smooth rotating nylon construction that distributes load evenly across the ankle. The board-end rail saver is also part of the swivel assembly, protecting the rail of your SUP from cord abrasion at the leash plug attachment point -- a common source of deck delamination on high-use boards.
