Globe Restless Complete Skateboard

Globe has been building boards with serious intent since the mid-1980s, when the Hill brothers launched Hardcore Enterprises in Melbourne, Australia and began designing and distributing boardsports product. By the mid-1990s, Globe had grown into a full global brand spanning shoes, apparel, and hardgoods for skaters and surfers alike. The Restless Complete carries that heritage forward in a package that is ready to ride the moment it leaves the box.

Old-School Cruiser Shape

The Restless is built on a wide, old-school-inspired cruiser template. The deck is noticeably wider than a standard street popsicle, giving you a stable, planted platform underfoot that translates naturally from surf to skate. The shape rewards carving, cruising, and relaxed freestyle skating just as comfortably as it handles transitions and mellow ramp sessions.

Bamboo Construction

The deck features a bamboo veneer construction, visible in the natural grain that runs the length of the graphic face. Bamboo is stiffer per unit of weight than traditional maple and has a lively, responsive snap that keeps the board from feeling dead under foot. Globe combines the bamboo layer with their standard construction process to produce a deck that is both durable and distinctively lightweight for its width.

Globe Complete Setup

Everything is assembled and dialed so you can skate immediately. Globe specifies the trucks, wheels, bearings, hardware, and grip tape as a matched system built for the deck's geometry. The silver aluminum trucks visible on the board are proportionally sized for the wider platform. The wheels are large enough to roll over cracks and rough pavement smoothly, making this a natural choice for street cruising as well as the skatepark.

Graphic and Finish

The Bamboo/Subterrain graphic features bold abstract shapes and a peace symbol motif set against the natural bamboo grain of the deck face. The underside carries matching grip tape printed with a peace symbol graphic. It is a board that looks as deliberate as it rides.

Who the Restless Is For

The Restless Complete suits skaters who want a wider, more surf-inspired ride without sacrificing skatepark capability. It is a strong first complete for someone graduating from a learner board, and an equally solid second board for an experienced street skater who wants a dedicated cruiser in the quiver. Globe's decades of boardsports development mean the spec choices are deliberate, not commodity.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are Globe skateboards good quality?
Yes. Globe has been designing and producing boardsports hardgoods since the mid-1980s, starting with Hardcore Enterprises in Melbourne, Australia. Their completes are built as matched systems, not commodity assemblies, with trucks, wheels, and hardware specified to work with each specific deck shape.
What is the Globe Restless Complete good for?
The Restless is built for cruising, carving, and relaxed all-terrain skating. Its wide, old-school cruiser shape translates naturally from a surf feel on the street to transitions and mellow ramp sessions. It is not optimized for technical flip tricks but excels at everything else.
Is the Globe Restless ready to ride out of the box?
Yes. The Restless comes fully assembled as a complete, with Globe-matched trucks, wheels, bearings, hardware, and grip tape already installed. No tools or additional parts are needed.
What makes a bamboo skateboard deck different from a maple deck?
Bamboo is stiffer per unit of weight than traditional maple, which gives a bamboo-veneered deck a lively, responsive feel with less dead weight. Bamboo constructions also tend to hold their pop longer because the fibers resist delamination under repeated impact.
Where is Globe skateboards from?
Globe is a Melbourne, Australia boardsports brand. The Hill brothers (Stephen, Peter, and Matt) founded it in the mid-1980s through Hardcore Enterprises and grew it into a global brand spanning shoes, apparel, and hardgoods for skaters and surfers.
