Surf-Style Carving on Concrete
The Carver Skateboards Blue Haze Surfskate Complete is built around the C7 front truck system, the gold standard in surfskate engineering. The C7 pivots with a forward-leaning, spring-loaded action that mimics the rail-to-rail feel of surfing. Pump through turns, generate speed without pushing, and work on your surf technique anywhere pavement exists.
Carver Skateboards pioneered the surfskate category and continues to define it. Every Blue Haze complete ships ride-ready with matched components so the setup works together from the first session.
Rounded Pin Shape: The Original Template
The rounded pin is the foundational surfboard shape, and the Blue Haze draws on a 1970s interpretation of it. The template widens toward the nose, giving more front-foot platform for pushing, trimming, and finding your stance in that relaxed, retro style. The longer nose overhang and drawn-in pin tail reward committed carves and encourage the kind of full-rail surfing that transfers directly to the water.
C7 Truck System
The C7 front truck is a patented three-point linkage design that replicates the pivot and yaw of a surfboard fin cluster. It connects directly to the deck through a standard truck mount, so the board responds to even subtle front-foot pressure. The C7 rear truck is a standard-geometry reverse kingpin that provides a stable rear pivot point, letting the front do the work of generating flow through each turn.
Wheels, Bearings, and Hardware
The Blue Haze rolls on 70mm Mag Smoke 78A urethane wheels. The 70mm diameter keeps momentum through cracks and rough pavement. The 78A durometer is soft enough to absorb road vibration while staying responsive through turns. Bearings are built directly into the wheel hubs, eliminating the need for spacers and simplifying maintenance. All hardware is stainless steel for corrosion resistance in South Florida's salt air environment.
Deck Construction and Grip
The deck ships with a full top graphic printed under a sugarcoat grip application, which provides traction while preserving the graphic underneath. The board is sold as a complete and is ready to skate out of the box.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the difference between the Carver C7 and CX truck systems?
- The C7 uses a three-point linkage front truck that replicates the pivoting yaw of a surfboard, producing deep, rail-to-rail carves and the ability to pump for speed. The CX uses a simpler spring-loaded front truck with a tighter, more skate-like feel that is easier to learn on but still surfy. The Blue Haze Complete C7 ships with the C7 system.
- Is the Carver Blue Haze good for surf training?
- Yes. The rounded-pin shape and C7 truck system are specifically designed to replicate the mechanics of surfing on pavement. The wider nose template encourages front-foot weighting and trimming, making it effective cross-training for surfers working on their turns, bottom turns, and generating speed through pumping.
- Can beginners ride the Carver Blue Haze C7?
- The C7 system is more sensitive than a standard skateboard truck and rewards active front-foot steering. Riders with some skating or surfing background will adapt quickly. True beginners may find the CX version easier to start on, then upgrade to C7 as their balance and technique develop.
- What is the Blue Haze Complete C7 made of?
- The complete ships with a maple deck featuring a full top graphic under sugarcoat grip, raw C7 trucks, 70mm Mag Smoke 78A urethane wheels with built-in bearings, and stainless steel hardware.
- Does the Carver Blue Haze ship ready to ride?
- Yes. The Blue Haze is sold as a fully assembled complete. It ships with deck, C7 trucks, wheels, built-in bearings, and hardware already mounted. No additional setup is required.
- Where can I buy the Carver Blue Haze Surfskate?
- The Carver Blue Haze Surfskate Complete C7 is available in store and online at Island Water Sports in South Florida.
