X-Formula Urethane, Built for Real Skating

Bones X-Formula Dino-Sortas wheels are part of the Bones pro-series lineup, rolling on the X-Formula urethane compound and rated at 99A. That hardness sits right in the street-skating sweet spot: fast and responsive on smooth concrete, yet with enough give to absorb rough pavement without chattering. The urethane is developed and produced entirely in-house at the Bones manufacturing plant in California, which means the formula, the pour, and the quality control are all under one roof rather than farmed out.

The Dino-Sortas series spans multiple pro-model graphics and three distinct wheel shapes, so you can match the wheel profile to how you skate.

Wheel Shapes in This Series

V6 Wide-Cut

The V6 shape features a wider contact patch and a sharp outer edge. More urethane on the ground means more grip through slides and more stability at speed, making it a strong choice for transition and park skating where you want the wheel to hold its line.

V5 All-Around Street

The V5 is Bones' workhorse street shape. A moderate contact width and slightly more rounded outer edge balance grip and slide-ability, letting you power-slide or lock-in a grind without the wheel fighting you either way.

V1 Classic Round

The V1 rounds the contact edge further, shedding grip intentionally so slides release cleanly. If controlled, predictable power slides and blunt slides are your priority, the V1 delivers that release at 99A without the squirrelly feel of a softer wheel.

Why X-Formula?

Bones operates multiple urethane formulas, each engineered for a specific performance profile rather than produced as a generic compound. X-Formula is designed for speed and durability on hard terrain. The abrasion resistance is a measurable advantage: wheels that flat-spot on the first session or wear down unevenly force you to replace them sooner, which erases any savings from buying a cheaper wheel. Bones backs every wheel with a warranty against manufacturing defects for the useful life of the product.

Pro-Model Graphics

Each graphic in the Dino-Sortas series is a pro-model design. The artwork visible on the wheel face is produced on a white urethane base, printed with bold illustration work specific to each pro's model. The wheel shown in the product images is the Boo model, featuring Bones Wheels branding and illustrated creature artwork.

Construction and Quality

Bones wheels are poured and finished at the company's own California facility. Proprietary formulation control means batch-to-batch consistency that third-party-manufactured wheels cannot replicate. Each set includes four wheels.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Bones X-Formula urethane?
X-Formula is one of Bones Wheels' proprietary urethane compounds, developed and produced entirely at their own California manufacturing plant. It is engineered specifically for speed and durability on hard terrain, with abrasion resistance that helps the wheel maintain its shape and performance over time rather than flat-spotting early.
What does 99A hardness mean for skateboard wheels?
The A-scale durometer rates urethane hardness from soft to hard. At 99A, these wheels are on the harder end of the street-skating range, which means they roll fast on smooth concrete, resist flat-spotting, and allow controlled slides. They are best suited for street, skatepark, and smooth-surface transition skating.
What is the difference between V6, V5, and V1 wheel shapes?
V6 is a wide-cut shape with more urethane contacting the ground, offering added grip and stability good for transition and park. V5 is an all-around street shape with a balanced contact width for both grip and slide control. V1 is a classic rounded edge shape that releases into slides more easily, preferred for power-slide-heavy street skating.
Are Bones Wheels covered by a warranty?
Yes. Bones Wheels warrants all manufactured products against manufacturing defects for the useful life of the product. If a wheel is found to be defective, Bones will replace it with a product of the same or better quality and cover return shipping.
How many wheels come in a set?
Each set of Bones X-Formula Dino-Sortas wheels includes four wheels.
Are Bones wheels better value than cheaper wheels?
Bones positions their wheels on long-term value rather than lowest entry price. Their in-house abrasion testing shows the urethane resists wear significantly longer than commodity wheels, meaning you replace them less often. A wheel that flat-spots on day one ultimately costs more than a higher-quality wheel that lasts many sessions.
