580G Glass Lens Technology
The Jose Pro is built around Costa's 580G optical glass, the clearest lens material Costa makes. The 580 system is engineered to do three things simultaneously: absorb harmful high-energy blue light (HEV), enhance reds, greens, and blues so detail pops in the water column, and filter out harsh yellow light that creates glare and washes out contrast. The result is a lens that shows you more of what matters and less of what does not.
Encapsulated Mirror Construction
The mirror coating on 580G lenses is encapsulated between layers of glass rather than applied to the outer surface. That means the mirror is scratch-proof by construction, not by coating. Combine that with glass that is 20% thinner and 22% lighter than average polarized glass and you get a lens that performs without the weight penalty typically associated with glass optics.
